Kybella

What Is Kybella?

Kybella is the only FDA-approved injectable for reducing moderate to severe fullness under the chin. The active ingredient is deoxycholic acid, a naturally occurring compound that breaks down dietary fat. When injected into the submental area, it destroys fat cells, which the body then clears through its natural metabolic processes. Treatments take 15 to 20 minutes. Most patients complete a series of two to four sessions spaced about a month apart. Mild swelling and tenderness are common for several days afterward. Because fat cells do not regenerate, results are long-lasting once a full course is complete.

The benefits

Permanent, Not Periodic

Once the fat cells are gone, they are gone for good. Kybella destroys what it targets permanently, so there are no repeat treatments, no maintenance appointments — just a result that holds quietly for the long run.

Considered Where Confidence Collects

Beneath the chin. Along the jaw. Where stubborn fat lingers regardless of effort. Kybella addresses the one area that diet and exercise often refuse to touch — restoring the definition that was always meant to be there.

A Finish That Reveals Your Structure

Clean, contoured, and entirely natural. As the treated fat fades, your jawline emerges — sharper, more defined, and unmistakably yours. No artificiality, just the shape that was always underneath.

Sculpted Without Surgery

No incisions. No anesthesia. No surgical recovery. Just a series of small, precise injections that quietly reshape your profile — and return you to your day with nothing but a little swelling to show for it.

A Few Sessions, Lasting Change

A short course of treatments, spaced at your pace, delivering results that stay. Sit down, let it work, and walk away knowing each session is building toward a permanently cleaner, more confident profile.

FREQUENTLY ASKED

The questions guests bring us most often, answered with the same care and clarity you'll find in the treatment room.

How is Kybella different from Dermal fillers?

Kybella and dermal fillers are both injectables but work in completely opposite ways to achieve very different goals. Kybella is a fat-dissolving injection made from deoxycholic acid that permanently destroys fat cells beneath the chin, making it a treatment focused on reduction and contouring. Dermal fillers, on the other hand, add volume and fullness to areas that have lost it, plumping and restoring rather than removing. Kybella requires multiple sessions spaced weeks apart before results are fully visible, while fillers deliver immediate results in a single appointment.

How long do Kybella results last?

Kybella is actually not a filler, but its results are considered permanent, which sets it apart from most other injectable treatments. Once Kybella destroys the fat cells beneath the chin, those cells do not regenerate or return, meaning the reduction in fullness is lasting. Most patients achieve their desired results within 2 to 4 treatment sessions, with each session spaced about 4 to 6 weeks apart.

Does Kybella hurt?

Kybella does involve some discomfort, but most patients find it very tolerable with the right preparation. A topical numbing cream or ice is typically applied to the treatment area beforehand to minimize pain during the injections. The injections themselves are often described as a burning or stinging sensation, which is caused by the deoxycholic acid working to break down the fat cells.

Which areas can Kybella treat?

Kybella is primarily FDA-approved for treating submental fullness, which is the area commonly known as the double chin. This is the area it is most widely used for and where its results are most well-documented and predictable. However, many providers also use it off-label to treat other areas of stubborn localized fat on the body. These include the jowls along the lower face, small pockets of fat around the bra line, underarms, inner thighs, and even the knees.

How many units of Kybella will I need?

Kybella is measured in vials rather than units, with each vial containing 2ml of the solution. The number of vials needed per session depends on the size of the treatment area and the amount of fat being targeted. For the double chin area, most patients require 1 to 2 vials per session, with the total course of treatment ranging from 2 to 4 sessions spaced about 4 to 6 weeks apart.
