IV Therapy

What Is IV Therapy?

IV therapy uses intravenous delivery to transfer nutrients directly into a patient’s bloodstream. This is ideal for cases when immediate direct delivery is preferable to the gradual delivery experienced with food and drink intake or supplement intake.

IV Therapy FAQs

What is NAD+?

Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD) is a naturally-occurring B-vitamin derivative of Niacin that is vital to hundreds of metabolic functions, including the generation of cellular energy. Levels of NAD decline as we age, and deficiencies can trigger metabolic and degenerative diseases, including cognitive diseases. NAD+ plays a major role in protecting against aging factors. NAD+ mitigates chemical stress, inflammation, DNA damage and failing mitochondria while promoting cellular benefits associated with caloric restriction and exercise. Found in virtually all living cells, NAD is essential to sustaining life. Restoring NAD+ has increasingly been viewed as an innovative way to promote longevity and slow down cellular aging.

How to Boost NAD+

NAD is biologically unstable, which makes it unreliable for oral supplementation. Fortunately, there’s a solution… Based on a recent data and medical research, NAD+ is best delivered via intravenous (IV) infusion. A loading dose of 5 infusions as close as possible (weekly is recommended) to replenish the NAD+ levels in the body. Once this loading period is over then patients should routinely have maintenance infusions every 6-8 weeks. For best results, Vitalyc recommends administering in conjunction with vitamin B12, B-complex, vitamin C and glutathione in order to maximize the effectiveness of the treatments.

What to expect during the infusion

A brief assessment will be conducted on the day of treatment by one of our providers. A small IV will be inserted after determining the proper dosages for you. Infusion time varies (usually between 1-2 hours) based on the dosage and tolerability of the person. The side effects of treatment are minimal and appear related to the rate at which the NAD+ is administered. At a faster rate, patients may experience slight upper torso pressure, abdominal cramping and/or lower leg soreness, increased muscle excitability. Flushing, mild nausea and a slight headache may also occur. If these symptoms do occur, they typically disappear within 15-30 seconds of decreasing the rate of infusion. No long term adverse events or events requiring hospitalizations related to NAD+ infusions have been reported. Patients are able to watch television, meditate or work on their devices while receiving their infusion

What to expect after the NAD+ treatment

Our patients report to feel mentally sharper and able to concentrate longer immediately following treatment. Many report that they are more energized and are less anxious. Not only are they feeling great, but they are looking great with changes to their skin and muscle tone with long term treatment.
